HEALTH & HUSBANDRY FOR HOMESTEAD ANIMALS with Doctor Tom Roskos
May 21 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM $
Our livestock deserve this.
They deserve our confidence in their care, ensuring good preventative health practices & natural methods of treatment.
That is exactly the confidence that an upcoming intensive workshop, “Health & Husbandry for Homestead Animals” with Dr. Tom Roskos will provide.
About Doc Tom: Doc Tom Roskos is a licensed veterinarian in western Wisconsin with 40+ years of experience. He specializes in cattle, sheep, and goats. He also farms 280 acres with beef cows, sheep, and goats, using natural, organic, conventional practices.
The Alaska Homestead Expo is hosting this intensive workshop on Thursday, May 21st from 10am-3pm at the Big Lake Lion’s Club. The workshop aims to provide livestock owners with the confidence and skills to address common, minor health issues on their own using natural/holistic methods. The focus is on prevention, early intervention, and self-reliance for basic needs.
Specific topics include:
- How animals stay healthy
- Simple approaches to complete nutrition
- Getting newborns off to a good start
- Natural products to maintain health
- Holistic methods of treating animals
- Management tips to improve animal’s lives
Veterinary expertise is still critical for serious, complex, or unresolved conditions. The workshop is not a replacement, but rather a complement to professional veterinary care.
The session can be attended in-person or virtually via live Zoom.
Cost for Homestead Expo weekend ticket holders is just $50.
Cost for non-ticket holders, general public is $125.
Recordings will be available post-event. Light refreshments will be provided. There will be a lunch break from 12-1pm during the session.
