2024 FALL APPLE U-PICK
$10.00
Hey all! It’s finally time!
This is bittersweet for us here on the farm because it means we’re wrapping up the season – and we absolutely LOVE having you all on the farm all summer long!
However, before we start pulling out our wool sweaters and snow boots, let’s enjoy one last afternoon on the farm! The apples are ready and so are we!
OPENING MONDAY SEPTEMBER 9 from 3-6 PM – APPOINTMENT REQUIRED! We are only opening for 25 spots this time. 🙂 The apples are first come, first served – while supplies last. The $10 reserves a picking appointment for you and is non-refundable. However, you will be credited the $10 when you check out as long as you come the day you have reserved.
This reserves a spot for you on Monday, September 9. We will be open from 3-6 pm, and you can come anytime – no need to make an appointment. If you are coming later in the day, be sure to plan for plenty of time to pick up as we do close promptly at 6. Be sure to bring a container to take your apples home in. We provide buckets for picking.
$10 reserves your spot and will be applied toward your order. (no-show, no refund)
The varieties we have to pick are Norland and Parkland. Our variety list is still a little small but the other trees are slowly catching up!
Here’s a little info about them both:
NORLAND is really good for fresh eating and preserving – however, they are NOT keepers. They are so tasty fresh, though – it’s amazing to me just how yummy a fresh apple is compared to a store bought one. There’s just no comparison! They are sweeter than a Parkland.
PARKLAND is also good for fresh eating and preserving but it’s a bit bigger. They are also not a keeping apple but they make excellent pie, sauce, and even dehydrated apple chips!
Apples are $3.50/lb and remember – your $10 that you pay is a deposit toward checkout so as long as you show up to pick, you’ll get your $10 back!
PLEASE NOTE: The $10 is for each family coming. If you are bringing a friend, you’ll need to purchase two spots, but if you’re bringing your spouse or kids, just purchase one ticket. The reason we do this is that we’d hate to underestimate the number of berries we have and to have someone drive all the way out here to pick only not to have enough.
Also please note: We love dogs but please leave yours at home. 🙂 If you need a dog fix, you can hang out with Myrtle and Addi who will be greeting customers.
However, kids are more than welcome but they do need to understand the rules of the farm and agree to them. For example: No running in the orchard, respect the plants, and samples are just that – please don’t make a lunch of the berries until you’ve paid for them. One way you can explain it to them (and we will explain, too) is to tell them that, just like we don’t take handfuls of food from the store without paying, we honor the farmer by not stealing his crop either.
Can’t wait to see you on Monday!
