SUSTAINABLE ALASKA SPRING SOCIAL

$10.00$25.00

It’s time for the FIRST ANNUAL SUSTAINABLE ALASKA SPRING SOCIAL brought to you by Common Ground Alaska!

Friday, May 5th at the Big Lake Lions Club from 6-8 PM

We are SO very excited to invite you all to join us and participate in this exciting event! One of our core values is building community – and what better way to build community than to gather around tables and share plants, seeds, and food?!?!

Here’s the plan for the evening:

POTLUCK DINNER:
Potluck dinner – bring your favorite dish to share with the group. We will eat around 6, so if you’re coming for the meal, plan to be there by 6 with your dish. Flatware, utensils, and drinks are provided.

You might be asking: what dish should you bring? Anything you’d like! Bring your grandma’s favorite baked beans or pulled pork from the hog you butchered last year or a dessert with Alaska berries – whatever you wish! We will provide tags so you can put the name of your dish, any special dietary specifications, and your name.

PLANT/SEED EXCHANGE:
If you would like to sell plants and seeds or have some to give away, please bring a table to set up by your car in the parking lot. If the weather is icky, we will provide tables inside for you. I will send an email out the evening prior with our final decision on how it will go.

How will the plant/seed exchange work? You get to choose what you charge, or you can even offer things for free – or for barter! It’s entirely between you and your potential customer. 🙂 Feel free to bring any extra plants you have or even seeds that you don’t need!

GUEST SPEAKER:
We also have a guest speaker coming who will surely be a delight to listen to and glean from. More information coming on that soon. 🙂

We are looking forward to getting to know each of you as we build this amazing Sustainable Alaska community. See you on the 5th!
