SUMMARY:ALASKA HOMESTEAD KIDS – MARCH 27 GARDENING CLASS
DESCRIPTION:We were talking the other evening and couldn’t help but wonder – why only have classes for adults? There are so many super fun aspects to homesteading that we know kids would LOVE! \nAs a result of that conversation\, we’re launching our Homestead Kids series of classes. We’re starting with our roots\, gardening\, of course! This class is taking place on March 27 from 1-4 pm at the Big Lake Lions Club. \nIn this three-hour gardening class\, your kids will learn all about healthy soil\, (including all the crazy bugs that work to make our soil healthy)\, they will even make edible soil layers. They will also get to plant several different seeds to take home and nurture. AND\, we even have a worm farmer coming to show how worms help our soil — and he’s bringing some worms for the kids to see! \nIt’s going to be a great class – super informative for kids of all ages! \nWe have geared this class for kindergarten – 6th grade\, but we do believe older kids will enjoy it as well. \nIMPORTANT NOTE: The snack does contain dairy. We can have a gluten-free version\, so if your child requires GF\, please indicate that in your notes at checkout.
